This event took place on 16 November 2017. Geoffrey had given a version of the 'Unbalanced Flows' paper the previous day to the Academy of Mindfulness and Contemplative Studies at the University of Ottawa, so there are some references to that in the lecture. This event was jointly arranged by the School of Religious Studies and the Division of Social and Transcultural Psychiatry at McGill University, Montreal, Canada, on 2 November 2017, during Geoffrey's visit as Numata Visiting Professor in the School of Religious Studies. It was also the opening lecture of a new Contemplative Science Lecture Series at McGill organised by the Division of Social and Transcultural Psychiatry.
