BAHAR Activities in Sydney, 2017 and 2018.

The first Sydney BAHAR programme took place in April-June 2017. The flyer can be downloaded here. Geoffrey and Santi were away from Australia for most of the remainder of 2017, and the BAHAR programme resumed in 2018. Please contact Geoffrey Samuel if you would like to be placed on our mailing list for events in Australia.

BAHAR Activities in Ascona, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto, April to December 2017.

BAHAR co-organised two workshops in 2017, one at the Centro Incontri Umani in Ascona, Switzerland, in July, and one with the Department for the Study of Religion at the University of Toronto in December. The Ascona workshop, on 'Exploring Tibetan and Western Approaches to the Mind and Consciousness,' took place at the Centro Incontri Umani on 21 to 23 July 2017. The programme can be downloaded here. The Toronto event, 'Hidden Lands in Himalayan Myth and History: Transformations of Beyul (sBas yul) through Time' took place at the University of Toronto from 15-18 December 2017. For further information about either event, please contact Geoffrey Samuel.

Geoffrey gave a revised version of his paper from the Ascona workshop in November 2017 as a lecture at McGill University, Montreal, Canada, where he was Numata Visiting Professor in late 2017. You can hear a recording of this lecture on our audio-visual page. You can also hear a second lecture, which he gave later in November 2017 at Carleton University, Ottawa, on the same page.
